Chris Molaro’s Journey to NeuroFlow
Chris Molaro’s journey to NeuroFlow was not a typical one. He didn’t come from a healthcare background but rather from an engineering background. After graduating from West Point with an engineering degree, Molaro served in the Army for several years, where he led combat missions and quickly learned how to solve problems and the importance of leadership.
During his service, Molaro witnessed the gaps in healthcare, especially in the mental health space. He saw how mental health and physical health were treated separately, despite the fact that they are intrinsically linked. This realization was further solidified when a few friends tragically lost their battles with depression and took their own lives.
After transitioning out of the military, Molaro went to Wharton for his MBA. It was during a healthcare business class that he decided to tackle the problem of integrating mental and physical health. This led to the creation of NeuroFlow, a company that he co-founded with a bioengineering PhD candidate, Adam Pardes.
NeuroFlow: Bridging the Gap in Healthcare
NeuroFlow is not a point solution or a teletherapy group. Rather, it is a technology infrastructure that helps healthcare partners better assess their populations, identify underlying behavioral health risks and conditions, and manage them to the appropriate levels of care.
The company partners with health systems, primary care groups, OB-GYN specialists, pain management groups, and health plans with chronic care management programs. They provide these partners with the technology to streamline and automate the way mental health assessments are collected and delivered.
NeuroFlow’s technology also collects wearable data, exercise level data, and uses AI algorithms on health record data to provide more actionable data and insights to professionals. This allows them to take a deeper look at patients and provide them with the right level of care.
The Future of NeuroFlow
NeuroFlow has made significant strides in the healthcare industry, supporting 15 million people on its platform across all 50 states. However, Molaro believes there is still much work to be done. With 7 billion people in the world, all of whom experience depression or anxiety at some point in their lives, the potential for growth is immense.
The company plans to continue leveraging technology to increase access and engagement and remove barriers to mental health care. They aim to double and triple their growth year over year, just as they have done over the past six years.
NeuroFlow is revolutionizing the way mental health is approached in the healthcare industry. By integrating mental health and physical health, they are not only improving patient outcomes but also making a significant social impact.
